ICT 4 internet and world wide web

ANSWER:

1. ICT 4 in the first assignment I've learned so many things. First was about the  history of Internet. The application of Internet in our daily life,how it is important today in the world of business. The uses and application of it. I understand also and knows the terms and meaning used in the Internet.
2. founder of Facebook is Mark Eliot Zucckerberg. Facebook begun on March 2004. Yahoo published on 1991. Google published on1986. Twitter published on 2007. Instagram published on 2006.Foursquare published on 2011. Youtube published on 2001.
3. FACEBOOK- We can use it to communicate to our family, love ones, relatives and friends who are far from us.
    GOOGLE- We can research all the things we want to know like for example about the information of that certain things you want to search.
    TWITTER- We can communicate also to our friends through text or from the word TWIT. Sharing also information,and following that person you like to know her or him about his or her daily activities in life.
    YAHOO- through yahoo we can chat on-line to our family,love ones and friends cam to cam.We can also send message through email.
    INSTAGRAM- Through instagram we can sale our own products via Internet.
    FOURSQUARE- Sharing photos,surfing and browsing videos in the Internet.
    YOUTUBE- Sharing and downloading video's and music.
4. I can say that the class is OK. The subject is good and interested specially in our chosen field as BSHRM students because I've learned a lot of things about the application of Internet in our course. Our Instructor is very cute and charming. I like the way how she teach us. At first, I saw her, I thought that she was strict kind of instructor but I was wrong because she is very kind and approachable you can learned a lot from here. From that also, I do believe in the sayings that "Don't judge the book by its cover but judge the book by its content." THANK YOU ma'am because of you I learned more about the uses of Internet.
5. From now on I can apply this learnings specially when someday I do have a Job or built my own business.

Reaction Paper about Pirates of Silicon Valley:

The Pirates of Silicon Valley is about the rivalry between Steve Jobs, the one who introduced the Apple Computers, and Bill Gates of Microsoft. Its all about the historical development of two large computer companies, from the time when Bill Gates and Steve Jobs’ college days to 1985, in moving pictures using old cinematography. The story began at Harvard, Bill and Paul Allen just love to play Poker with their friend Steve Ballmer. Until one day, they saw this ad on Popular Electronics Magazine about the smallest computer, the Altair 8080. They went to deal with the maker that they will make an operating system for it. On Berkeley, Steve Jobs and Wozniak are busy making the computer that will change the world. It was a crazy idea, but they were successful until finally, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates met each other. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs performed many unethical actions during the beginnings of Microsoft and Apple. It emphasized the negative qualities of the two gentlemen that are now having big names worldwide.

 

Bill Gates the owner of Microsoft. In the movie, He is a great businessman with no other goal but to compete on other companies and win that competition. Bill Gates also tried to put everyone down who are in the same business even though Microsoft at first was an underdog. But still, he survived and also made Microsoft as a threatening counterpart to Apple. He made an offer to IBM with no assurance on his hand. IBM reasoned that hardware not software is where the money is at, so they agree. And he take his own risk in making a deal on Steve Jobs that he will work for Apple Inc as a developer. 

Steve Jobs the CEO of an Apple company. He is a very smart inventor. He have ideas which are ahead of his competitors. He did not stop in his invention even he always fail because he thought that one day his invention will be known to the company and the people in the whole world. He is the man that has only one side decision. He is opportunistic and very tricky, he tricked the engineers from Xerox to sell the patent and copyright of the mouse to him which was discarded by the company and was treated as a waste of their resources. But even though he is a very smart inventor, he failed and kicked out of his own company because of his pride and attitude. He became arrogant and his ideas became twisted for his colleagues to understand. He divided his company, Apple into two camps. One the old Apple computer camp, and the other the new Macintosh development camp. He made his two company compete with each other. After seeing this effect on the company, Steve Jobs is forced to leave his position at Apple. Years later, Steve Jobs back in command of Apple who now has partnered with Microsoft and Bill Gates. The good things happened that Steve Jobs realized that Bill Gates developed Windows using the software that Apple had programmed for their computers. 

MICROSOFT AND APPLE

My reaction of this movie was at first I don't understand what the the movie is all about, so what I did was, I repeat watching on it tries, then after that I got what Pirates of Silicon Valley means. I realized that being a genius in the field we have is not enough. Sometimes we need to do bad things for us to succeed in life. And we should not be arrogant in whatever accomplishments we have because we never know what the future will holds, sometimes those we do not considered before might be the one who will succeed more. And In my own opinion why the movie called Pirates of Silicon Valley its because it is about piracy in the computer world and Silicon Valley is a place in California where computers are built and Apple also was born. And called Pirates because Microsoft was raised stealing ideas from others.

MY SKILL AND EXPERTISE

We study to be able to learn. To develop our skills and to sharpen our knowledge. In every activities we performed we become much better. As a student we need to be competitive inside and outside the school.This will lead us to have a better future someday. We must be unique among all so that we have the advantage to other applicants if we apply job in the future.

Like this Seminar and Workshop about table napkin folding and table skirting I can say that,I gained more knowledge about this activity. It developed and enhanced my skills and ability on how to perform well about table napkin folding and table skirting.

Applying the knowledge based on what I have learned is the best way by molding my skills and ability. Through this I become much better and more competitive.

We need also to develop our self confidence in order for us to be successful in life. We must have trust and believe in our self. Personality and development builds me a lot to become more confident in life.

This are the four kinds of drinks I made. The Pre dinner drink(gin tonic), after dinner drink (black Russian), mock tail drink (Shirley temple), and frozen drink (creamy creamsicle).

Another shown photos is the proper way of serving the guest. It was taken during our Food and beverage service. As a Hotel and Restaurant
Management  student, We must need to practice and familiarize those basic steps on how to serve the guest so that someday if we are assign as waiter or waitresses, We can easily cope up.

Not just only practicing on how to serve the guest but mostly important is to know how to cook because as we know this is the field we choose, it is all about cooking, promoting products, entertaining and serving the guest.

so that during our Asian and western cuisine we cooked our own signature dish, and this is my signature dish.

besides from that, We need also to be proficient and efficient in the field we have.We must be flexible to all the tasks assigned to us .This photo my task was I am a front desk. We performed this activity during our housekeeping.

We entertained the guest asking if he has already his reservation. We accommodate our guest so that his stay in our hotel would be memorable and unforgettable for him. We assisted him and give him of what he needs.

And most especially we must bear in our mind that in order for us to survive and stay longer in the industry, We need to be friendly to all the people surround us most specially to our co-associates. And we must put always our feet below the ground.

 

STRIVE HARD

May 7,1989 a native Davaoeña born. I come from the East of Davao which where typhoon Pablo passed by. A beautiful town of Cateel turned into a ghost town. Gradually, people in my hometown bringing hope back into their life.

I am the sixth child of seven children of  Mr. Virgilo and Mrs. Rogelia Abucejo.  We are seven siblings in our family, four boys and three girls. During my childhood, I had a walk several miles away from my school. This made me realized the importance of  Education. At my young age, I have been succeeded many trials in my life. I grow up in a very conservative family. In fact, our parents didn't allow us to mingle with others during our adolescence. Until now, when I returned home they still didn't allow us to stroll even I am on my legal age.

I studied my Elementary education at San Alfonso Central Elementary School. I graduated with flying colors the same with during high school. Memories that I have during my childhood days were treasured ones. When I tried to flashback and reminisce those memories, it made me think how beautiful life is.

During my college days, I took Nursing at University of Mindanao but I didn't finish it. I shifted because of saturated population of graduated Nurses who wanted a job but can't enter the industry. Another factor is the financial aspect. Our land was used as a collateral for my brother to send him abroad. So our Income had to be distributed. Now, I am glad that I am here in Hotel and Restaurant industry. I choose Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Philippine College of Technology because I realized that there are greater opportunities that I can acquire here and a lot of opportunities waiting for me outside. On the other hand, cooking is really my passion.

Talks about skills and talents, i have a lot. I am fluent in English. I am a computer literate. I passed two Assessment in NC II which are Commercial Cooking, Bar service and Wine steward. I know how to socialize to other people because I worked as a Sales Associate and a Promo in a company name NCCC Mall Davao.My hobbies are reading books, watching discovery channel, singing and playing guitar.

2012, this year was the most challenging year that we had in our family. Last December 4, we were hit by the typhoon. The typhoon left nothing but destruction. Our coconut farm were severely damaged. Our house were partially damaged. Our life was change. After a month, my mother had Heart attack leaving her half body paralyzed. Despite of the challenges and trials I had, I stood firm. I am Paulita Abucejo, strong, determined and never give up.
